Handloads.Com ForumPoliticsFreedom of Speech?
Today I listened to AN INTERVEIW WITH a soldier, that had recently returned from Iraq, HE explainED that the soldiers were very disheartened while serving in Iraq, because of the constant media reports of citizens protesting the war. hE WAS SO CHOKED UP, HE COULD HARDLY SPEAK. He had returned thinking he would be ill treated because of the media coverage. He thought that most of America was protesting. I know the media has a right to say and print any opinion they want, but when they use their influence to undermine the war effort and possibly cause harm to soldiers that believe their reports, is this freedom of speech or just left wing bias, tilting the news in an effort to control events? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of speech, but when it threatens to harm our soldiers just to meet political goals, it's time to put a stop to it. I will not watch the news on TV or read certain newspapers thaT HAVE DONE THIS. iF THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE VOTE AGAINST THIS KIND OF THING WITH THEIR TV CLICKER, IT WILL STOP.

It always seemed queer to me that it is no problem putting a 15 day wait on one of our freedoms (gun ownership), but try to put some type of condition on freedom of speech. What if a breaking story comes in, but they are now required a 3 day cool down period. This would give them time to verify all the facts and not put others at risk before reporting the story. Lord knows we can't have a wait period on that Right, but we can on another. Strange indeed.

He who controls the airwaves controls the people.

One thing I'll never forgive Reagan for was the repeal of the "equal time" provision in FCC rules.
Used to be the TV and Radio folks didn't always get to choose our reality.
Is it deer season yet?
The National Education Association, has determined to teach our children that the second ammendment has no bearing on modern times, and is no longer neccesary. A relic of the past. As you have said, let their right of freedom of speech be questioned and watch the fur fly. Which right has the most power to ensure the continuation of the others? To deny the second ammendment, is to open this country up for all the our other freedoms to tumble. To control this country, the control of media is an essential first step. To call this left leaning garbage news, is misleading at best, and self serving socialism at worst. As long as they still rely on funding from corporate sponsers, we can still stop it by not watching. What really gets my goat is public television that presses their own left wing agenda. I cancelled my cable five years ago, and don't miss it at all. When you haven't watched it in a while and then see this garbage at someone elses house, it's agenda comes in clear as day. I'll stick to watching my DVDs and VCR tapes, I have more than a thousand movies, and I could watch Lonesome Dove every week.

I think it´s like this: Like in Europe ,the people with the stupidest ideas are the ones that are heard.
The moore silly you get the louder you speak.
Soon well´have drooling retards in our parlaments.

Since this IS political section...

"'crats", not cats. Not same. One has 4 legs, fuzzy butt, and a small bunghole. The other has half the legs, not a hair on their ass, no brain whatsoever. The resemble a self propelled bunghole.

Wow, I thought you said "dueling leotards" Bosse. Scared me for a sec...

The Second is the teeth of the Bill of Rights. The Media are the pawns of the liberals. They do not realize that it is the threat of an armed and free population that keep their 1st ammendment rights intact (and the others, as well)

Tubby,
The mainstream media, like their handlers in the socialist, I'm sorry, Democrat party, only care about power. The Constitution and the country for that matter run a distant second to their hunger for power.
