Posted by: casDate: 7/17/2002 10:17:49 PM Posts: 138 | Rarely these days, but then I shoot rarely these days. 98% of my shooting is done at paper targets, and 22's and paper are a snooze fest. Zzzzzzzzz.... since i don't shoot bullseye anymore it's rare that I shoot 22's on paper. About the only time I do is for DA practice. I'll do like the old carnival game. I'll stick up a 1" orange square at 10-15 yards and shoot untill all the orange is gone. |

| Welcome Mac, 22 Silhouette is a fun and very challenging game, a lot more entertaining than just punching holes in paper.

Back several years ago I shoot a 100 rounds of something every dry day. (I like to keep in the groove) Rick |

| 10/22 a fair bit. Weaver K2.5, and a bit of unobtrusive magic. too valuable to me to wear out on paper. there are some ground Squirrels out west however....
My most used .22 rf is the 'short' barrel for my T/C carbine. Absolute death on pests and squirrels with CB caps. 1/2" at 50 yds. |

| Don't limit yourself to farmers Macumazahn, ranchers have big problems with prarie dogs too, they dig holes that injure stock. It certainly couldn't hurt to offer your services to the local ranchers. :) |

I´d love to have a levergun too.
Rifles with silencers (legal here) are wonderful for varmints, neighbours don´t get disturbed at all. I can drop certain varmint thrusts right out of my bedroom window with Remington subsonic HP:s.
Or plinking in my 15 yds "inside" range that I built in an old barn,I shoot .22s almost daily,in fact.
And obviously my wife likes them too. |

| 22 shooting is a good way to go back in time and enjoy simpler days. For a kids pistol the Ruger Bearcat is hard to beat. small grips lite weight and has good balance. The chipmunk rifle is a good one for little guys but they out grow it pretty fast. the 10/22 is fun in prairie dog towns, before they wise up and stay out of range. |
| The most expensive bullet there is ain’t worth a plug nickel if it don’t go where its supposed to. |

| Well let's see, I have a revolver, a break action o/u, a semi auto pistol, a semiauto rifle, a bolt action rifle, a lever rifle all in .22 cal. Yeah I guess I will shoot a few thousand .22's a year. I'd say that I probably shoot MANY times more .22 than any other caliber. Great fun, accurate, cheap, oh yeah did I mention fun? What's not to like??
