Using the Sierra 120 grain Match King, I’ve managed 5/8" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with my Remington 700 Mountain Rifle. Your velocity will be higher than my stubby 22" barrel.

This is an actual tested velocity from a Browning A-Bolt 22" barrel. The bullet was a Nosler Ballistic Tip and the primer was a Fed GM215M. The velocity spread was very low. Accuracy below an inch at 100yds.

Using 120 gr Sie Pro Hunters, .010 off the lands, CCI Match Primers, once fire formed brass, yields same-hole groups at 100 yards out of my off the shelf 700 mountain rifle. The only gun and only load I use on deer!

123gr BTHP 44.0 grN-550 3,000 fps2.750" Fed LR guest
The N-550 was the only powder I tried that delivered consistant velocity in the 3000fps range with a small extreme spread, sub MOA accuracy. Bullet: 123 Lapua Scenar. Primer: Fed 210M Test barrel: 22" 1x8 twist. Caution: this is a MAX load and may not be suitable for another barrel/chamber combination.

Admin Note: Well over Vihtavuori 40.7gr max with a 120gr SP @ 2741 fps.

Velocities from an 18.5 inch barrel. The bullet is the 129g Hornady Spire Point This very hot, but has proven safe in my gun at well over 1000 rounds. Very accurate and consistent. Performs well on game at the upper end of the 260 Rem’s capabilites. The average group size is .75 MOA.

Bullet is Hornady 129g Spire Point. Velocities are from an 18.5 inch barrel. Load is extremely accurate and very mild. Average group size is under .50 MOA with CCI BR2 primers. Performs well on deer and wild hogs.
